Has the Australian Government "Set Up" the population to be Slaughtered?

Where is the sense in updating the "Prohibited Weapons Laws" to make it illegal for an ordinary person to carry so much as a Pocket Knife, yet allow Gangs to roam the streets armed with machete's,knives, samurai swords etc.? Why does the Government make it nearly Impossible for an ordinary person to Defend themselves & their family, & at the same time do NOTHING about the Gangs & the well Armed Criminal element? If these weapons ARE Illegal, How can Middle Eastern & Asian people claim that they carry such weapons because "it is a part of their culture", AND get away with it? Is the Government setting the rest of us up to be Slaughtered???

Its the path that Aus has taken... Disarming the masses helps a lot in cases of crimes of passion. Street violence is also less as people have punch ups not shoot outs. If this is unacceptable to you try Canada where you are allowed to have a good gun.
