Knife Sharpeners?

I would like to know what other people have found to be quality knife sharpeners for a reasonable price. Would it be good to get one for the home that is finer grit, or just one for out in the field. I definitely need one for out in the field in case my blade gets dull while field dressing, and just to bring along on extended backpacking trips. Basically I just want know what sharpeners are good for home to get extra sharp, and an all purpose one for the field. Any and all information would be greatly aprecaited.

best sharpener I ever used is a 4" x 10" piece of 3/8" float glass with a partial sheet of black carbide sandpaper glued to it with spray adhesive so you can use fresh paper or different grit
piece of tile (if flat) should work as well
