making a knife sheath (fixed blade)?
im out of heavier leather that i would normally use for making a sheath but i have a bunch of 16 in square sheets of light craft leather...do you guys think/ know if it would work if i glued say three of these together and let them set and then use them like the thicker hide?
since you suggest the glue idea, use contact cement, let it dry flat. Then add another layer, same way you did the first 2 pieces. If that seems thick enough then go for it, if it doesn't just add another layer.
Be sure you use well ventilated area, closed will make you feel sick. When you place the pieces together to be glued make sure you glue one side of each piece, put them together and smooth before they are too stuck to slide slightly. Wouldn't want wrinkles in it now would you.
Let us know how it turned out.
