Knives gift registry?
I was discussing my friends with a gift register my sister and how I want to get a set of knives, it was the registry. Well she freaked and went on a tangent how such knives is a declaration of war and should never be given as a gift. She told me that if I want I can give my friend money for the purchase of knives, but that it is extremely bad taste to give actual to locate her because she will be taken the wrong way. Has anyone else heard this? Well my sister just makes it seem this is something common sense, so I wonder , if someone else has heard of it, because I certaintly do not.
I'm Asian, and in our culture, It is bad luck to give knives as wedding gift because it is "cutting" relationships with family (family is the most important). Although his friend recorded for them, and I am sure that they are very nice set, I woud try to find something else to give her. (But I'm superstitious so. Obviously that is not your friend or she would not have signed up to them first place. If that does not bother you, then go for it! I am sure that she will assessed.)
